Finally, today is the starting day of my vacation to Zakynthos.
It’s October 1st 2007
It was an early day, my plane is leaving 06.15 am.
And I have to be at least at 04.45 am at Schiphol.
My parents are going to give me a ride.
Everything went well. The drive to the airport and also the flight.
We arrived at Zakynthos around 10.30 am and about 45 minutes later in the hotel.
Because we were so early we couldn’t get into our rooms already so I decided to walk around a bit.
The weather is lovely and the hotel is indeed right behind the beach.
It looks lovely!
The first and second day I kept it easy.
Walked a lot in the loverly warm weather (27 Celsius).
Visited a few lovely Tavernes and tried to speak a little Greek.
Later I rented a bike. For 3 days.
Pffff! It’s hilly so takes a lot of energy to bike in the sun over the hills.
Though it was beautiful!
But I also decided to come back next year to take a view at the West side of the Island.
That’s way to far on bike with this temperature and with these hills.
The days past by and I had a lovely vacation.
I read a lot, ate lovely meals. Drunk the great Greek wine, spoke some Greek with inhabitants.
The water is so bright, even when you go deeper into the water you can see your toes. And it’s nicely warm. A little colder than the outside temperature so great to cool a little
Bought lovely souvenirs and made some great photo’s.

And the people, although it’s almost the end of the season and they must be tired from working the complete season without any free day, are so kind.
It was a lovely vacation and Zakynthos, I’ll be back for sure next year!Â
